Fuel Pump TestThis test stand performed several tests on gear pumps. 3 servo motors automatically adjusts the pumps to output a given pressure at a given speed. The system is controlled by a touch-screen PC. A pressure decay test is performed. Fluid is then introduced into the pump. The pump shaft is engaged and turned by a servo motor. Feedback from the servo controller allowed monitoring of shaft speeds and the torque required to drive the pump. Transducers and flow meters accurately monitor flow rates and output pressure. An electronically adjusted relief valve allows control of output pressures. The extensive software development for this project allows a wide range of flexibility for the test parameters, data acquisition and calibration while maintaining user-friendly screens for the operators. |
